The ButcherShop

I decided first on my list of my fitness checklist should be the complete opposite thought of what I am trying accomplish with this blog. Get it out of the way, off my list, off my mind. I think there should be something to say about how far some women go to get the look without all the work!

I know women that opted for surgery. Now, I am not saying never say never on anything in life because some have reasons and validations for every situation. Personally, I do not think I could be happy with a hip bone to hip bone scar just so that my stomach was flat. I will accept my little roll as part of life and hope that it does not get out of control as I age.

Movie stars are under pressure to stay thin and look fit and tight in case a lurking paparazzi catches a ghastly piece of cellulite and blows it up, circles it and shows arrows pointing at the dimples in a magazine for all to see. Indeed it gets frustrating to be a normal woman who has some dimples to get up every morning to sweat it out at the gym. It is easy to get caught up in the insanity. It is a hard balance some days not to just wish for a quick fix. A little lippo here or there? Would I turn it down if it were offered free....hmmmm. Would I call it maintenance or label it what it was, a sneaky little cheat to fitness.

I decided to air this vent even though I realize that focusing on this aspect of what some consider the quick fix to fitness, is not the REAL way I want to go about blogging on fitness because nipping and tucking yourself in not really fitness now is it?

  1. I beleive "self Fitness" is what the individual makes it. Me personally I have never been one for fitness. I hate to exercise, but absolutely love to dance. So, I use dancing as my form of exercise. Even though my outwardly body frame doesn't reflect my "self Fitness" I am most of the time very secure in the words of Niecy Nash "secure in my jiggley parts."

  2. Oh, I can see we're going to have to have words here. I'm as fiscally fffffffftttt as you can get without being comatose. My problem is I don't like to sweat. I don't swimming because at least when you sweat you don't know it. However, I'm glad you are not obsessive about your looks. I've known too many pretty s who were also silly and sad. You, however, do not demonstrate that problem. Does that make you paranoid at all? I keep waiting for some diet and exercise guru to jump out at me at Wal-Mart telling me why I really don't want that chocolate. A lot they know. I'd just as soon run over that person with my cart than to hear them say something that stupid to me.

  3. You are absolutely saying what I'm feeling. You have to kick your own butt everyday to maintain a fit body. I'm glad that someone is feeling my pain. I love the way you leave the reader wondering whether or not you would opt for surgery if it were free. This adds a nice creative aspect to your blog. By the way you look great at forty. I look forward to reading more of your blogs.

  4. I am looking forward to reading more of your blog. I began an active fitness life at age 46. Prior to that, I was 100 pounds overweight and a true couch potato. I'm sure your enthusiasm and motivation will help lots of people.

  5. I've heard that the 40s are the new 30s, I sure hope it's true. I like to go to the gym about 3 to 5 times a week, but I don't seem follow a good eating schedule and I understand that our bodies need a well balanced diet to maintain energy. The funny thing is that I hate to eat.Ever since I discovered that my cholestrol is high, that kind of makes eating less enjoyable. I hardly eat any junk food, unless my hubby sabatoges my diet when he kindly brings home semi-chocolate chip cookies from Mrs. Field's in the Grand Mall.I think the only reason he brings me the goodies, is so he doesn't feel guilty about his own eating habits. Although, I really thinks he means well;)I've heard by eating every 3 to 4 hours keeps your cholestrol in; check-has anybody heard about that? Looking forward to reading your blog.
